Cold air therapy is suitable for short, rapid and intense cooling of the skin, as well as longer-term moderate cooling to reduce the temperature even in deeper tissue layers to therapeutically relevant levels.
Cold air therapy has been proven in:
- For painful conditions (acute and chronic) of the musculoskeletal system such as arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, myositis, fibrositis, muscle strain, cervical syndrome, post-impact disorders, lumbar syndrome, injuries of muscles or joints (bruises, sprains).
- Reducing pain, improving mobility and reducing joint stiffness in rheumatic diseases (increasingly chronic polyarthritis), as in the case of rheumatoid arthritis
- Neurological diseases (such as multiple sclerosis or postpoplectic hemiplegia) to reduce spasticity
- It is also used to cool the skin in laser epilation treatments.
